Imelda Was In Town
A friend invited me to watch the Off Broadway musical Imelda.
The life story of a dreamy lass, Imelda Romualdez. From becoming a provincial girl, to a beauty queen, to a Senator's wife to The First Lady of MY REPUBLIC.

The beauty, glamour, power, glamour, extravagance, glamour and more glamour.
Imelda Marcos musical.
I will be honest that this off broadway musical needed much support and lots of funding. I was not impressed at all with the stage design, choreography, costume, make up and over all look of the show. Needed lots of detail and attention.
Uhm, this musical was about power and glamour, and is therefore expected that it will be shown on stage. Disappointed.
Yes! The talents did save the show from the poor look of the show but still, needed a lot of beautification.
Heck, even the actor portraying the First Woman President of MY REPUBLIC, wore shoes too big on her......Missing little details like that, a turn off.
Like what I said, I give credit for the wonderful cast for their great talents. Well done.
For a moment, I thought I was seated at an amateur or college show.
And for a show in MY NEW YORK, to be well received and considered a success, it should be top notch in every aspect of a show.
We can't just come up with poor aesthetic and present it to an audience. Bring in the fact that the main character (Imelda Marcos) is not well accepted by the majority because of her bad history and negativce criticisms.
And this is a show for an audience that is world news savvy. For a stranger to just bump into this kind of musical with its story, it might be perceived as something un-interesting.
Imeldific. Yes, it is in the modern dictionary. Look it up.
